How it works
- Send a quote request: service type (STAT, same-day or scheduled route), pickup and drop-off ZIPs, timing and handling needs.
- We confirm the price, pickup window and any packaging or hand-off rules your facility uses.
- At pickup, your courier checks the container count and seals and records the hand-off (time, place, who released it).
- Items ride secured and separated from unrelated cargo, direct to the drop-off.
- At drop-off, the receiver signs and the time is logged. You get proof of delivery.
What to prepare
- Packaging and labels per your facility or lab rules (we follow them; we don't repackage)
- Container count and any seal or requisition numbers
- Temperature range, if one applies (ambient, refrigerated or frozen)
- Pickup and drop-off contacts and any building access steps
- For routes: stop list, time windows and frequency
What we carry
- Lab specimens and specimen kits packaged by your facility
- Pharmacy orders to clinics, facilities and care homes
- Medical supplies, equipment and records between locations
- Dental, veterinary and specialty office runs
What we don't carry
- Anything requiring a placarded hazmat vehicle
- Category A infectious substances, organs or tissue for transplant
- Dry ice or special cold-chain shipments unless confirmed before booking
- Patient information in texts, emails or web forms (container IDs only)
How pricing works
Medical pricing is built from urgency (STAT, same-day or scheduled), distance, number of stops, wait time and handling (for example, temperature-controlled). Scheduled routes are usually priced per stop with a route-day minimum. After-hours and weekend runs cost more.
Rates on request. Every quote is built from distance, timing, stops and handling, and confirmed before pickup.
Privacy: please don't send patient names, dates of birth, record numbers or other health information through this website. Container IDs and facility details are all we need.
FAQ
Is your courier HIPAA trained?
Yes. Your courier has completed HIPAA privacy training and bloodborne pathogens training, and holds a TWIC card. We follow your facility's own procedures first.
What does STAT mean at IXpress?
STAT means the run is dispatched right away and goes directly from pickup to drop-off with no other stops.
Can you run a daily lab route?
Yes. Send your stops, time windows and frequency and we'll quote a scheduled route.
Do you need patient information?
No. Never send patient names, dates of birth or record numbers. Container IDs and facility details are all we need.
